يتناول الدليل على نحو مبسط التعاريف والمفاهيم الأساسية في إدارة المشاريع، ومن ثم مراحل دورة حياة المشروع (مرحلة التحليل، مرحلة التخطيط، مرحلة التنفيذ، مرحلة التقييم)، ويعتمد الدليل بشكل أساسي على شرح مفهوم الإطار المنطقي الذي يعتبر المكون الأساسي لأي مشروع. كما يسلط الدليل الضوء على نحو موجز على كتابة مقترحات المشاريع.
