Denouncing the Grave Violations of Human Rights by the Turkish Occupation Forces
2022-01-16
Condemning the massive violations of human rights by the Turkish occupation forces in their continuous attack on the regions of NES, which recently targeted Kobani city, leaving wounded and martyrs, including a child whose leg was amputated, in a scene that shames humanity without deterrence or conscience. And denouncing the Iranian regime's sentence of five years' imprisonment of the Kurdish language teacher “Zara Mohammadi” for teaching in the mother tongue, which is a flagrant violation of all international conventions and norms that state that learning in the mother tongue is a right of all human beings. In response, on thursday, 13/1/2022, in front of the UN headquarters in the city of Qamishli, civil society organizations (Shawishka Association, Women Peace Leaders Network, Sarah Organization, Reng Organization, Ashti Center,) organized a vigil of condemnation and denunciation, where the participants carried pictures of the victims of the Turkish bombing, pictures of the detained teacher and slogans written in the three languages (English, Kurdish, Arabic), denouncing the ongoing human rights violations and calling upon the international community to bear the responsibilities and respect the approved covenants and charters.
