World Braille Day

World Braille Day is celebrated on January 4th to highlight the importance of promoting the rights of visually impaired individuals, such as the blind and those with low vision, through Braille and its significance. The date for this event was chosen by the United Nations General Assembly, which declared it in November 2018. It was first celebrated as the inaugural World Braille Day on January 4th, 2019.
