Be aware

2024-08-15
As part of the efforts made to combat the phenomenon of drugs and protect young people from its negative effects, an awareness initiative was launched in public institutes in the city of Raqqa by Baladna Organization for Development and Development under the slogan "Be Aware", which started from August 8 to August 14. Four public institutes in the city were targeted: Bassam Ziwar, Tariq bin Ziyad, Adnan Al-Maliki, and Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan. The initiative focused on using modern interactive means such as displaying videos via a projector. The videos featured real stories and personal experiences of people exposed to the dangers of drugs. Comprehensive awareness brochures were distributed to students containing information about the most common types of drugs, their health and social effects, and how to avoid falling into this scourge. In addition, students were trained in the "peer to peer" process to enhance their ability to help their colleagues stay away from drugs by providing support and advice. This initiative is considered an important step towards educating young people in the city of Raqqa about the dangers of drugs, using modern interactive means that reach the minds and hearts of students directly.
