With the beginning of the summer season, temperatures rise and the phenomenon of drought continues in the fields, which increases the possibility of fires occurring in crops, farms and property, which occur repeatedly every year in the summer, as crop fires cause the burning of large areas of agricultural land and lead to damage and burning of crops and trees which is a major source of food.
When a fire breaks out, it is recommended to do the following:
- Immediately call the fire department in your area, making sure to pinpoint the exact location of the fire.
- Try to fight and extinguish the fire if it is safe to do so.
- Be prepared to remove livestock and animals immediately if there is any danger to them if the fire spreads if it is safe for you to do so.
- Be prepared to use farm machinery to assist the fire department if requested.
- Prepare available water sources near crops and homes for use in fighting fires if possible.
